Developing my tours and drinking wine
While I have been developing my tours I have had the chance to try a lot of the locally produced wines from this region and can certainly recommend them. I also have to own up here and say that I have bought more than a few bottles home to share with my closest friends and families.
Along with the bottles of wine that made it into my car, also came a slew of memories about the people who produced them and I am sure that those memories will be with me long after the wine is gone. As I write this blog and swirl the amber liquid in the glass in front of me, I wanted to share with you the feelings I am left with after some of those amazing visits.
Mostly the thing that struck me was how passionate the local vineyard owners are about their properties and their vines. The other thing that struck me was how carefully each owner has crafted an experience for prospective visitors, with each new place I visited I discovered beautiful views, award winning restaurants and more and more people who were passionate about Gippsland and helping it grow.
I don’t know about you, but for me these memories and experiences make drinking the wine all the more pleasurable. They just make me want to get behind the wheel of my bus even more, to drive over rolling hills, down dirt roads, and around winding tracks where I will discover new places and new stories that in time will become memories that I can savour along with my wine.
As always I hope you will come along with me soon, so that I can share these experiences with you and we can both get out Into the country together.
